But wait there’s more! Viddler also offers you the ability to add a graphic to their video player (that stays when it is embedded elsewhere). We suggest you add your logo to the Viddler player. And as an added bonus Viddler also lets this graphic be a live link to a URL of your choosing, so naturally we suggest you have it point to your website to assist in the viewer in getting there easily! These are some great features!

Another thing that is different at Viddler is the option for users (yourself or visitors) to tag certain points of the video with a comment or "Tag" (aka keyword) so when the video is playing a comment can pop-up that might say, “This is the area we spoke of earlier in the video”. Or the pop-up comment can be more descriptive: “The sizes offered for this item are Extra-Small through Large, in both Blue and Cream”.

We feel that these extra features are very helpful in stretching the usability of videos online. Hopefully other sites will follow suit and make their players more robust like Viddlers is.

Video Thumbnail Viddler - Concerns
We are sorry to report that even though there are some very cool features offered at Viddler.com, they seem to have their issues. At times the “select your own thumbnail” option has worked just fine and other times it has not worked at all.

 

It seems a little flakey at the time of this writing (May 2009), but we hope they will work out all the bugs and allow this feature to shine in the video hosting world as it should.
